If you have amber eyes, know that you are one of the lucky few as this eye color is extremely rare. Are you looking for some makeup tips to bring out those gorgeous eyes?

Amber eyes are stunning in that they often appear gold as they contain a yellowish or copper tint with subtle brown and green/hazel hues. They are often referred to as “wolf eyes or cat eyes.” Those who have been blessed with this eye color may have a hard time finding the right makeup shades to really make their eyes pop. Check out these makeup tips for amber eyes!

Make-up Tips for Amber Eyes

Mascara

Mascara is a great way to make your amber eyes pop as well as to take your lashes to the next level. Of course, you can go with basic shades like brown or black, if you want to really make those gorgeous eyes stand out, opt for shades of purple, green and burgundy mascara.

Eyeliner

One of the best things about eyeliner is that it helps to define your eyes by creating depth. Of course, black eyeliner is sexy if you are going for a smokey eye, but if you wish to achieve a more natural look, brown eyeliner is your best bet. However, if you want to go for a more dramatic effect, opt for deep shades of purple, a dark-forest green or a dark navy blue.

Eyeshadow

Copper and Bronze Eyeshadow

If you want to show off the green specks in your amber-colored eyes you should utilize deep shades of bronze, gold, and copper to highlight your eyes. Instead of the standard black smokey eye, why not try a metallic and bronze version? First, you would apply a layer of shimmer light brown to your eyelids and then follow with a dark brown in both the outer corner and crease of your eyes. Next blend for a flawless and sexy smokey eye!

Earth Tones: Grey and Green Eyeshadow

Earthy shades of green shadow are simply stunning on amber-colored eyes when combined with gold or bronze. Start with a golden cream eyeshadow for the base and apply to the lids, stopping just shy of the crease. Use an earthy green for the lids and a highlighter for the brow bone and inner corners of your eyes. To darken the crease, apply a dark copper eyeshadow.

Another good earthy look for amber-colored eyes is a frosty taupe or grayish-brown shadow. When paired with a deep burgundy or dark brown it will give off a sexy, smoldering vibe.

Plum and Purple Eyeshadow

Both purple and plum eyeshadows are fabulous. If you want to bring out the golden flecks in your eyes, go for shades of violet purple, burgundy-purple with red tones and bright eggplant. Or for a night out on the town, use a deep plum or purple for a dramatic smokey eye.

If you want a more neutral effect, opt for a shimmery pink-purple shade on the lids and apply a deep purple eggplant on the crease. Top it off with a pink or peach lipstick for a natural look that is feminine and chic without being too over-the-top for work or a casual day out.
